I Launched An App! Mowable Meadows, Sunscreen Start Pack, Finding Your Farmshare & Bed Sheets with an FDA Class 1 Medical Device Rating
After nearly a year of development, I am super proud to announce the launch of the Detox Your Dome App 🥳
Feeling confused by ingredient scanner apps?
I get it.
If I’ve learned one thing over the past three years it’s that every app, influencer, country, organization, scientist, doctor, store and brand seems to have a completely different opinion of what “non-toxic” actually means.
And that’s exactly why it took me so much longer than anticipated to release the Detox Your Dome app. Because I didn’t want to add yet another opinion to all this noise.
I didn’t want to create another app telling you what’s “good” or “bad” based on one set of standards. I wanted to build something that actually helped people think critically and make informed decisions for themselves.
So instead of building an opinion tool, I built a data tool.
What that means is when you scan the ingredient list of a product, the app shows you how those ingredients are regulated across 11 different jurisdictions and organizations, including the EU, Canada, Japan, the FDA, EWG, Prop 65, IFRA, Credo Beauty, and more.
Rather than telling you what to think, it shows you what these different organizations and governing bodies have decided about those ingredients. Then you can make the decision that aligns with your own personal standards, comfort level, and lifestyle.
The goal for this app is to help you become a more informed, educated, and conscious consumer by giving you access to information rooted in science, regulation, and data (not opinions or fear mongering).
The app currently has three main features:
Ingredient Scanner: Scan ingredients and textiles to see regulatory data across multiple jurisdictions. It also includes a built-in research tool where you can ask questions about what these ingredients may mean for the health of your body and the environment.
Product Directory: Hundreds of vetted, clean swaps across beauty, body, home, and lifestyle.
Interactive Guides: Clickable checklists for the rooms in your home / steps in your beauty routines that turn complex topics into actionable information.
(p.s. Android coming very soon!)
No Mow May ➡️ Mowable Meadows
Lawns account for approximately 50 million acres of land across the contiguous U.S. And what do conventional lawns do for our pollinators, biodiversity and ecosystems? Basically nothing. They’re thirsty, often chemically managed, and usually mowed so short and so often that flowers never get a chance to bloom and insects have nowhere to feed or shelter.
Enter: No Mow May. The idea is simple - give early season flowers a chance to bloom so hungry bees, butterflies and other pollinators have something to eat when they are coming out of winter. Even skipping a few mowings and letting “weeds” like clover, violets and dandelions grow can significantly increase the number and variety of pollinators.
Sounds beautiful, but in practice it can feel…messy.
Because the reality is that most of us live in neighborhoods with town ordinances, HOA rules, and our own personal standards for what feels cared-for. No Mow May can start to feel like a forced choice between “I want to help the bees” and “I don’t want my yard to look abandoned”.
That’s where the middle path comes in. Something sustainable, intentional, and more realistic than a one-month experiment.
The Mowable Meadow:
A lawn that still functions like a yard but behaves more like an ecosystem. Less golf course, more walkable habitat. This approach supports pollinators by letting flowers actually bloom across the season, while still giving you walkable routes, places to sit, and a look that feels “kept up.”

P.S. - after doing this last summer, our yard literally felt like a magical fairy garden and housed so many beautiful birds, bugs, bees and critters!

From Toxic Textiles to 100% Plant-Dyed, Medical-Grade Fabrics
Have you ever heard of bed sheets with an FDA Class 1 Medical Device rating? Neither had I.
On the latest podcast I sat down with Michel May, founder of Aizome, to unpack the hidden world of textile chemicals and why the fabrics we wear and sleep on every single day deserve way more attention than they get.
We dive into everything from synthetic dyes and misleading certifications to the reality of how little regulation exists around textile safety globally. Michel breaks down how conventional dye manufacturing impacts both environmental and human health, and the toxic substances that can linger in our clothes and bedding long after production.
We also talk about what the future of textiles could look like through Aizome’s groundbreaking work developing 100% plant-dyed, color-fast, medical-grade fabrics using innovative ultrasound technology. An inspiring episode on a product that is not just less bad, but truly actually good.
